A dominatrix and her partner were each handed twelve-month suspended sentences on Friday for seeking to extort 250,000 francs ($268,000) from a Geneva-based banker.
Having already spent 93 days in jail, the pair were to be set free later in the day after a Geneva court gave its verdict, newspaper Le Matin reports.
The court found that the 34-year-old Polish dominatrix, a trained political scientist, had conspired with her 31-year-old Turkish boyfriend to frame a married banker who paid for her services.
In the summer of 2011, the banker twice stumped up 10,000 francs for sadomasochistic sessions at Geneva hotels.
At a third meet-up in December last year, the woman secretly filmed her bondage session with the banker.
Armed with evidence of his clandestine activities, the couple threatened to reveal all to his employer and family.
A month after the filmed session, the frightened banker received a fax at his office with a picture of his own penis.
It was the first in a series of threatening correspondences that culminated in a call this summer for a 250,000-franc pay-off.
But he refused to pay, and instead turned to the authorities for help.
On Friday, the Geneva criminal court found the couple guilty, while the banker was awarded 2,000 francs in punitive damages.
