Zurich calls for study on legalizing marijuana
The Swiss city of Zurich's parliament on Wednesday voted to call on the government to commission a national study on legalizing marijuana, local media said.
The vote capped a lively discussion on the topic, the ATS news agency said
In 2010, Zurich had already joined forces with the northern city of Basel to set up a task force on the feasibility of a pilot project that would allow the controlled sale of cannabis.
The group concluded that the project wasn't possible under Swiss laws.
