Missing man found dead in Obwalden forest
A man reported missing in early July has been found dead close to the wreck of his car in central Switzerland.
Obwalden cantonal police said the 65-year-old driver had apparently crashed his car in a forest, the Swiss news agency SDA reported. Although he had managed to free himself he subsequently died of his injuries.
The body was found on a remote forest track in Giswil. The wreck of the car was located 150 metres higher up in a densely forested area.
The police said that according to their preliminary findings the car had come off the road during a manoeuvre in a turning space.
The vehicle overturned several times and fell around 90 metres.
After freeing himself the driver managed to walk away but his strength gave out and he died on the path.
