A 37-year-old man has died from his injuries after he was shot in the head and arm following a dispute at a shopping centre on the outskirts of Geneva on Tuesday evening.

The victim died at around two o'clock in the morning on Wednesday at Geneva University Hospital, just hours after the attack at the Les Cygnes shopping centre.

A number of people in the area told newspaper La Tribune de Geneve that the alleged killer and his victim both lived on the margins of society and were likely drug users.

The suspect does not contest the facts that led to the other man's death. He was arrested at a Chinese restaurant shortly after the attack.
