Pamela Anderson, the former Baywatch babe, appeared at Art Basel on Thursday to the delight of several hundred male fans.

“I don't know why men still find me so sexy,” she told online news site Blick.

The superstar was given a red and gold throne to sit on as she scribbled autographs for her fans on anything that they could find including flip-flops and arm casts.

“It’s a boyhood dream come true,” one fan, who had been waiting for an autograph for over an hour, told online news site 20 Minuten.

Some of her fans were disappointed that her best-known assets were not on display, but were instead concealed by a large Sea Shepherd t-shirt, in a show of support for the marine conservation organization whose founder has recently come into conflict with the law.

This is Anderson’s first trip to Switzerland, although she has attended Art Basel in Miami.

“It’s like a picture postcard,” she said, before heading off to Zurich and the Mausefalle nightclub.

Art Basel, dubbed "the Olympics of the art world", is in its 43rd year. Boasting some 2,500 artists from 300 galleries across the world, the fair runs until June 17th.
