Building crane falls onto kids' garden trampoline
A construction crane collapsed into a residential garden in the canton of Basel-Country on Wednesday, destroying an enclosed trampoline and damaging a children’s swimming pool, cantonal police said.
The incident occurred in the community of Zwingen at around 8am when the 30-metre-long boom of the crane fell from a tower 20 metres high, police said in a statement.
Fortunately no children were in the garden at the time of the accident and no one was injured, according to the statement.
The cause of the crane’s collapse remains unclear and is the subject of an ongoing investigation, police said.
The crane was badly damaged.
The overall damage may run into six figures, police said.
