Swiss woman dies from 'fall' in Italian Alps

A 29-year-old Swiss woman holidaying in northern Italy died from an apparent fall while mountain hiking in the Alto Adige region, Italian rescue officials said on Sunday.
Searchers found the woman’s body in a ditch at an altitude of 2,650 metres in the Senales valley, officials quoted by the Italian AGI news agency said.
The woman was reported missing on Friday.
From the initial indications, the woman died from a fall, officials said.
The victim was with a group of Swiss tourists in the South Tyrol mountain area close to the Swiss and Austrian borders.
A group of 130 Alpine search and rescue workers, fire fighters and police officers took part in the search for the woman.
