Masks made compulsory in shops in Neuchâtel
Neuchâtel has become the fourth Swiss canton to make masks compulsory in shops and supermarkets.
The rule comes into effect immediately and will remain in place until at least September 30th.
Neuchâtel joins Geneva, Vaud and Jura in requiring masks in shops and supermarkets.
On a federal level, masks have been required in public transport all across Switzerland since July 6th.
Authorities in Neuchâtel have also strongly encouraged mask wearing in all public places.
New infections are on the rise in Neuchâtel, with daily infection rates more than doubling from early August.
