Not a sport for the faint-hearted. Described as the Swiss variant of stone-putting, STEINSTOSSEN is a prehistoric sport which involves throwing rocks that weigh up to 50 kilograms. It is mainly played at Swiss summer festivals. Records trace this activity back to the north-western city of Basel in the 13th century.
