Swiss police said on Monday a teenager had turned himself in after an arson attack at a church in western Switzerland.

The 17-year-old, who has been temporarily detained, "said he had acted under effect of alcohol, for no reason," said local police.

On Sunday, police said one or several unidentified people had piled prayer books and other objects against the altar and set them on fire.
