A Peeping Tom has been caught out trying to film young girls getting changed in the cabins at the Alpamare water park in canton Schwiez.

Three girls aged seven, ten and eleven were about to get changed when the oldest noticed that someone had pushed a mobile phone camera under the door to film them, online news site 20 Minutes reported.

The girls chased the man through the park but then lost him. They went immediately to a lifeguard and described the man they had seen.

“Luckily they noticed the appearance of the man,” the lifeguard known as Sascha S, told the website. “We looked for him together. The oldest girl especially wanted to come with me.”

The 39-year-old man, spotted at the cash desk, then fled, pursued by Sascha S, the 11-year-old girl, and the girls’ stepfather.

“I ran about 500 metres after him in flip-flops,” Sascha S told the website. “He was so fast!”

Luckily the man was stopped by a passer-by. He was taken back to the checkout where he attempted to escape again. His captors then pushed him to the floor to restrain him until the police showed up.

The man admitted to police that he had in fact filmed women and girls at the park on more than 20 previous occasions.

He will now go before the courts in Einsiedeln to answer charges.
