Hundreds stood outside the small parish church in the village of Bercher to mourn the death of the young trainee cook who was punched in the face by another teen because he didn’t like the jacket he was wearing, Le Matin newspaper reported.
Dylan fell to the pavement heavily, hitting his head in the process.
He was taken by ambulance to the local hospital before being transported to another hospital in Lausanne, where he died shortly after.
He was reportedly wearing a jacket made by Lonsdale, a British boxing, martial arts and clothing brand, according to media reports.
A 15-year-old boy turned himself into police and admitted to hitting Dylan, Le Matin said.
He was reportedly encouraged to punch the victim by another 15-year-old.
The pastor officiating at the funeral said Dylan died from a “gratuitous act of violence”.
The two 15-year-old boys implicated have been placed in provisional detention while the investigation into the case continues.
