Many people, both Swiss and foreigners, pay an accounting firm to prepare their tax declaration on their behalf. But this doesn't always work out for the best as one reader testified.

Why pay someone to do your tax return? Every canton I have lived in has had an online eTax service that walks you through the tax return. Even if you can't speak French/German/Italian web browsers translate it for you... Just have your salary statement and bank statements ready as pdf and then It takes about 10-15 minutes. They even calculate your allowances automatically...
